“The thrill of new experiences has always driven my career choices. While I’ve worked long hours and experienced some pretty fast-paced growth, I've come to learn about the value of adding instead of subtracting: fulfilment comes not from escaping the grind, but enriching life's joys alongside it. I started my journey at PwC as an audit associate, where six years in audit – including two in financial statement review – fuelled a constant question: “What's next?” That then led me to PwC Acceleration Center Kuala Lumpur (AC KL) in 2022. The work was still audit, yet the allure of something entirely new and undefined was irresistible. So I took the leap. My transition to asset and wealth management audit at AC KL was challenging as it demanded me to learn quickly about a new industry and navigate the operations of a different region. Collaborating with diverse teams across AC Manila and AC Kolkata further underscored the importance of understanding cultural differences which has helped me become a better manager – leading with empathy, being mindful of people's backgrounds and experiences. As one of the pioneer joiners of AC KL, I had the opportunity of being seconded to AC Manila and helping leaders navigate the intricacies of AC during its early growth stages. I also became a My+ Activator, serving as a change champion in bringing PwC's reimagined people experience strategies to life in a centre that has expanded to 300+ employees today. Right now, I’m all about finding time for small joys alongside personal endeavours and professional pursuits – whether it's meeting up with friends, exercising, or just taking things slow. I dove straight into the middle of a busy season after graduating, and for a while, I never snapped out of it. Having experienced immense professional growth in my 20s, I’m excited to embrace a more mindful approach, wherever my next chapter takes me. The next decade is full of exciting possibilities, and I'm open to exploring new experiences, opportunities and passions. The key to a fulfilling life, I've learnt, is to make room for balance. My perspective and intentional choices will shape my own path, and I will not hold back.” - Nursyahida Kamaruddin (Manager, Assurance, AC Kuala Lumpur) #MYPwCExperience

Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) has implemented a revised Beneficial Ownership (BO) Guideline, expanding its scope to cover all entities registered under their purview. This revision clarifies the identification of BOs and broadens the responsibilities of both entities and BOs themselves. With the added obligations for the maintenance and reporting of such information to the regulator, our Corporate Services team unpacks these changes and their impact on business owners and directors.
